Ten cadets, along with their commanding officer, Lt. R. Dorman, .set out for the Kootenay Lake Ferry the M.V. Anscomb, The corps marched aboard where they were greeted by, mate D, Crispin, who conducted a tour of the upper deck, including a lesson’ on the operation of the ‘lifeboats, bridge, flag deck and radar deck. Anscomb Capt. H. Schweitzer wel- comed the cadets to” the bridge for a tour of the wheelhouse. There they were given a lesson on tho ship's controls and the emergency backup system, the ship's telegraph. Upon docking, the chlef engineer, H. Coatz led the cadets on a tour of his department, the ship's en- gine’s room. The cadots then disem- barked at Crawford Bay where they enjoyed a picnic and sports afternoon.
