The meeting opened with the reading of three one-act plays. The first “Riders to the Sea” by J, M. Singe, is a play of sup- reme tradgedy with a setting on an island off the west coast of Ireland. A mother,.2 daughters and a son make up the solemn east. The story is slow-moving, but extremely powerful. The second play entitled “Mr, Sampson," and written by Char- les Lee is the hilarious and well- liked story of 2 sisters with an undecided suitor (that is undecid- ed as to who he should marry of the two girls) who feels every- thing could be decided by flipping a coin, or by some such other similar arrangement. The third play, a Welsh way- side comedy, by J. ©. Francis, was entitled “Birds of a Feather.” This is extremely funny and has a cast of four men. The story is about 2 seemingly harmless tirik- ers (who are actually harmless poachers) and their escapades from the eyes of the law. The story is fast-moving and guite popular as far as produc.
