An 8:30 a.m. game against undefeated Williams Lake started with Castlegar winning the coin toss for home team. The defense started out still tired from the previous two days play and before they knew it, were down 16-3 after two innings. The pride of the Castlegar team would not let them fold. With the powerful hitting and good defence they fount back to tie the game 17-17 after the fifth inning. ‘The time limit of the game had expired. Extra innings were declared to break the tie. Castlegar won the game 18-17 in one extra inning. . By the next game time, word was out of Castlegar's desire to win the championship. They were then slated against the winners of the round robin which was Yarrow (Chilliwack). A win here would put them in the medal rounds. Again strong defence and good all round ball playing saw them win 9-6. Meanwhile the Williams Lake team was winning their games to get back into the final game against Castlegar.
