PEE WEE REPS Things went from bad to worse Sunday for the Castlegar Pee Wee Reps as they dropped their second game of the regular season 4-2 to host Beaver Valley. Castlegar jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a pair of goals by Darren Pottle before the game was five minutes old. Pottle’s first goal came on a pass from Craig Swanson. His second was unassisted. After Pottle’s performance it was all Beaver Valley. ‘Castlegar ran up against some hot goaltending and were shut out the rest of the game. Two goals got Beaver Valley back in the game and a giveaway in Castlegar’s end gave Beaver Valley the lead. Frustration set in late in the game resulting in penalties and Beaver Valley capitalized on its opportunities to ice the 4-2 victory. Bill Phillips will be lost to Castlegar for an indefinite amount of time due to a knee injury and Swanson and Pottle will be gone for three weeks because of holidays. With the three players out of the lineup, Castlegar will carry 11 players. This weekend the team travels to Spokane for two league games. MIDGET REPS Castlegar Midget Reps won two games last weekend against Beaver Valley by scores of 7-2 and 6-0. In Sunday’s 7-2 win, the first goal came late in the first period with Ryan Jolly scoring from Nino Da Costa and Chris Babakaiff. The Period ended with Castlegar up 1-0. In the second period, Derek Kazakoff scored twice with assists going to Babakaiff and Shane Cutler.
