. .n.. .. ALK:: The annual KIJHL all-star game will be held in Creston Arena on Jan. 2. Along with the game there will be the usual banquet and dance. As far as I'm concerned there has never been a bad all-star game since the practice was started and they seem to get better every year. H you are in a position to go to Creston this year, I'm sure you'll see another good one. Twenty players from each division make up the two teams, there are five each from Trail and Cranbrook, four each from Columbia Valley, Nelson, Kimberley and Castlegar, three each from Spokane and Rossland and two apiece from Elk Valley, Beaver Valley, Creston and Grand Forks. Opposing coaches will be Colin Patterson of Cranbrook and Dave Limacber of, Trail, Roger Handley will be Dave'sasmstant There will be medallions for each player named to the team and six from each team will get a trophy. The game has been built into some kind of a showcase over the years and this promises to be no exception. A few weeks ago Cleve Cowland, who came originally from Yorkton, Sask., handed me a clipping from the Yorkton newspaper with a story regarding rule changes inititated by the local league in that area to guard against pre-game brawling. It is a practice which we have not been bothered with in the KIJHL so far, but as competition gets tougher, it is a possibility and looking at the fines, suspensions, etc. which the Saskatchel"an league is going to start levying for occurrences of this kind, it might form a pattern for the young leagues in this province. The league in Saskatchewan I'm referring to is the Tier Two SAJHL.
