A report by the London-based human rights group said many of the missing are feared dead. It accused security forces of killing of people since gency military rule began in southern Peru two years ago. “Human rights violations on this scale are unprece- dented in modern Peru,’’ Amnesty declared. It said scores of bodies mutilated by torture have been found dumped in mass graves. The main yictims were peasants and local leaders in the ao Five piece gourmet tool set. It gave no precise estimate of the number of alleged political killings by the government but said more than 400 people had been arrested and later found dead. Many of those killed were found naked and blindfolded with a single gunshot wound to the head, it added. The death toll could be much higher, however, as many of the 2,000 people reported to have been guerrillas killed in Clashes with security forces may have been summarily executed, it said. “The armed forces continued through 1984 to violate human rights in the zone with virtual impunity; the governmet has done little to control them," the report said. enema NEW AV/S AGENT Calvin Janko of Janko Holdings Ltd., operatin: AVIS CAR & TRUCK RENTALS in Kasnlsone, Kelowna and Penticton, is pleased 14 announce the appointment of DALE NIELSEN A Aviation Ltd.) as AVIS AGENT for Castlegar and area.
