with Olaf Aasland, made a motor
tour of Trail, Fruitvale, Ymir,
Salmo and Nelson last week,
stopping enroute for a number
of visits with pensioners in the
area.

Jankola, Vancouver, were week-
end visitors at the home of Mr.

from a week's visit in Calgary

the groom’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. G. O. Sutherland, in Robson,
Friday evening and enjoyed a
lively social gathering.
There were a variety of felici-
tations and well-wishes expr
ed to the newly-weds and spi
ed dances to the music of
nimble-fingered Johnny Gall and
his accordion, while ample re-
freshments, both liquid and solid
ensured a full measure of enjoy-
ment for all.

Assisting the hostess in serving
were her daughter, Miss Kay

On Saturday afternoon, Aug-:
ust 9, in St. Rita’s Rectory, the
Castlegar unit of the Catholic
Women’s League, under the con-
venorshin of Mrs. C. Brodman
and Mrs. L. V. Campbell, spon-
sored a tea and pantry shower
as a tangible expression of ap-
preciation to the Sisters of the
Atonement who had just com-
pleted a two week’s vacation
school in Castlegar, Kinnaird and
district.

Members of the parish of Cas-
tlegar, the mission of Kinnaird
and the surrounding district,
brought donations of food, can-
ned good and money offerings
for the Sisters. Assisting at the
tea were Mrs. M. Gallo and Mrs.
C. Knoblacuh,
