(letter, Castlegar Sun April 12). 1 do not agree, though, that most, or even many, Canadians are complacent about Mt, OF are not aware of how adversely NAFTA will affect us. Most people I know are like myself in that they are Saying little at present because they know that with our present Prime Minister and his huge majority (elected by less than half the voters) there is no way of preventing ratification. Rea- Son, logic, experience, and observa. ton count for nothing with our fed- eral government. There is no way to save a fool from his folly. Yes, we are quiet. Quiet to the point of being sullen. We are bid ing our time; we are waiting for the day when we will have the opportunity to turf out the traitors who are dedicated to selling us into servitude, to making us hired labourers in our own land. We are looking forward to voting for a party, any party, that will help us to take control of our own destiny and to do those things for our- selves that we know we can do better than anyone else ‘can do them for us. Fred G. Marsh On behalf of furry critters ever ywhere—thank you! Dear Editor: Qn February 20, 1993, the Castlegar and District Wildlife Associa- tion held their 29th annual fundraising banquet and dance at the Castle- gar Community Complex. This year, the C.D.W.A. raised just over $7,000 for our club's activities. We will use a large portion of these funds towards the purchase of land we wish to preserve as wildlife habitat. Because of The Sun's generous support in seven wildlife prints, the print auction raised close to one half of our total profits from the banquet! The Castlegar and District Wildlife Association would like to personally thank The Sun for its continued support of our club and hope you will continue to Support the C.D.W.A. with this activity President, Castlegar and District Wildlife As Stephen Davis, Celebrate your roots!
