THE LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE DIVISION (UNIVERSITY TRANSFER PROGRAMME) COURSE REQUIREMENTS For students who wish to complete the first two years of the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees A student may prepare himself for the B.A. or B.SC. degree either in a General Course or in an Honours Course. The course requirements for the General Course enable a student to obtain a broad, general education in several fields of study and some specialization in one major field. The course of study for an Honours degree, on the other hand, requires that a student study one or two subjects intensively during the last two or three years at university. In most cases, students may postpone the decision as to whether to proceed in a General Course or in an Honours Course until the end of the fourth term or second year. It must be noted, however, that requirements for honour degrees or subject majors usually involve certain prere- quisite courses which should be taken in the first four terms. These prerequisite courses will be indicated where applicable for each department listed in the following pages. UNITS OF WORK REQUIRED FOR FIRST TWO YEARS OF CREDIT TOWARDS A B.A. OR B.SC.
