DEAR DR. GRAHAM: I am attracted by the Christian

faith, but it seems so hard to tell what is true and whet is -

wrong today. How can I be sure the Christian faith is true?

oy.

DEAR J.Y.: Yes, I know, there are many voices today
‘saying that we can never really know what is true (especially
in the area of religion) and that one person's opinion is as good
or as valid as another person's view. If I thought the Christian
faith were only another human opinion, dreamed up by men
who were no wiser than people today, I would probably agree

with this modern viewpoint.

But the Bible makes a atartling claim, and it is one I want
you to investigate seriously. The Christian faith says that we
can know the truth, because God Himself has revealed it to us.
The Christian faith, in other words, is not the product of men’s
imaginations, but has been given to us by God Himself. If this
is true, you will admit that it makes an enormous difference.
We are not longer left to grope around in the dark, because

God has spoken.

How has God revealed Himself to us? God revealed His
truth in various ways through the people He had chosen, but
most of all He has revealed Himself in His Son. “In the past
God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many
times and in various ways, but in these last days he has
spoken to us by his Son" (Hebrews 1:1- 2). Another way to say

All this may seem a bit academic — but the central truth
is this: if you want to know what God. is like, look at Jesus
Christ. When you look at Him, you will realize that God loves
you and wants you to be His child by faith in Christ. He has
made it possible for you to be reconciled to Himself and has
proven this by raising Christ from the dead. Look at Him —

Varied models provide choice

If one’s home is one’s
castle, a boater'’s cruiser .is
like a cottage.

come in some might interest-
ing styles and conformations.
Two-storey jobs are fly-
bridge cruisers, split levels
are cuddy-cabin cruisers, and
pre-fabs are day cruisers
with camper tops.

There are almost as
many cruiser layouts as there
are customers, catering to as
many individual tastes as
does General Foods.

Some like a lot, a cruis-
ing castle that noses majesti-
cally out into the stream with
space for everything aboard
including the kitchen sink, a
furnace, a wet bar and 2
microwave oven.

Others find miniaturiza-
tion more to their liking and
their pocketbook capacity
and opt for a cuddy cruiser
that manages to fit a place to
sit, sun, sleep, cook and
ablute all into one snug and
trailerable package.

anent yet compact. You can
expect decent headroom of
something better than six
feet, a roomy dinette for four
and plenty of locker space all
enclosed withing the main
cabin.

The gallery will provide
everything you really need to
cook a meal, wash the dishes
and also wash yourself. The
head is often best suited to a
contortionist, but if you have
to go you can still do with
modicum of dignity.

for close friends or families.
There is a necessary degree

very best. At least one
bathroom has a tub, the
others merely showers. (You
get the feeling that the very
rich have a fetish about
cleanliness.)

not know what they are
missing.

Regardless of size, to-
day's cruisers are remark-
ably imaginative in their use
of both space and practical
materials. No nook for poten-
tial storage is overlooked.
The helmsman's seat might
slide back and over to reveal
a functional little galley he-
neath. Long and narrow
lockers are. set into the
cockpit floor for water skis,
boat hooks, fishing rods and
other long stuff.
