ROSS THOMPSON FOR MAYOR,

The Record believes it voices the sen-
timent of the majority of the citizens
of Roseland and particularly the rate-
payers, when it expresses its preference
for Mr. Ross Thompson for the next
mayor xf Roseland. While he can be
regarded aa in nowise seeking the office
we are reliably informed that he is not
averse to becoming a candidate, and
will abide by the decision of his friends,
and that-is very pronounced in favor of
him standing for the mayor.

Mr. Thompson possesses many
elements of strengh. In the first
place he is honeat, no greater compl.-
ment can be paid a man than to say he
