Just because this man has a license to practice medicine doesn’t mean he has the right to sleep with his patients, whether he’s single or married. If he thought nothing of having an affair with her, I'H bet he has broken the code of ethics with other female patients as well. I succumbed to the charms of my physician a few years ago and have been ashamed of myself ever since. “Dr. Smooth” told me he needed the emotional and physical attention he didn’t get at home and I was the perfect person to provide it. When I regained my senses, I reported this physician to the state medical board. He had to move to another state to practice medicine. I am happy to say my marriage survived this sor- did affair. I have learned a lot about why I let this happen to me and what I need to do to keep my mar- riage strong. I am also proud of myself for having had the courage to blow the whistle on this man espite the embarrassment it caused me I hope my letter will appear in print. It could other strength they need to get out of these crippling rela- tionships. , — Lesson Learned in Toledo, Ohio Dear Toledo: You are noble to want to accept part of the blame for the affair, but the onus is on the doctor. It is the responsibility of the pro- fessional to keep hands off the patient. He (or she) is in the position of power and should never take advantage of a patient's vulnerability. give women the Happy *Oct9 Happy SthBirthday Sheldon Love Jeffrey and Jordie *Oct 16 Happy 7th birthday Jeffrey 3 Love Mom, Dad & Jordi Happy Birthday Linda Love Brian Happy Birthday Celia Shay Love Grandma & Metro Quiz-Cross | 22.
