the chapel of the Castlegar
Funeral Home for Walter W.
Thorp, 66, of Castlegar, who
died Tuesday in the Vancouver
General Hosptial.

Born May 16, 1921, in
Bronfield, Yorkshire, England,
Mr. Thorp came to Castlegar as
an infant in 1922 with the
family settling in the Robson
district,

He took his schooling in the
Robson-Castlegar schools and
has resided in the Castlegar
district continuously other than
from 1939 to 1946 when he
served his country with the
Royal Canadian Navy.

He married in 1943 in

the war, he attended the UBC
Grad Electrical Engineer and
has been employed with West
Kootenay since that time.

He is survived by his wile
Barbara; two sons, Alan ‘vf
Vancouver and John of Vit-
toria; one daughter, Mra, Ken
(Margaret) Kuhn of Coquitlan;
one grandson; his mother, Mr
Glades Thorp of Robson; one.
brother, Rex of Nakusp and one
sister, Mrs, Audrey Webb of
North Vancouver.

Rev. Klint Howard will
