Hunters should respond B.C. hunters who received a 1983 harvest questionnaire from the Fish and Wildlife Branch are asked to complete and return the postpaid card promptly. Prompt response makes expensive second and third requests through the mail unnecessary; and from the hunter's point of view, means that coming open sea- sons can be determined that much sooner. The annual] survey of a large sample of resident hunters information invaluable for effective wild- life management. Questionnaire responses indicate how heavily various game species are hunted, where hunting pressure falls in different parts of the province, and the relative success of hunters. Contacted hunters who purchased a li- cence for a particular species, but did not hunt or did not kill an animal of that species, should complete and return the questionnaire neverthe~ less. Their answers are needed as much as those of the successful hunter to pro- vide a true picture of last. year’s hunting activity.
