The charge against Deputy Inldnd
Revenue Collector W. &. Jones of Ross-
hand, B. C., for embezzling the funds uf
the Canadian government has been
withdrawn. Jones, who is now in Spo-
kane, under the hoepitable roof of his
friend, Dave O'Neil, the mining’ man,
will go back to Rossland a free man,
though not to'resume the duties of . hit
Jute office, It was all wmistake about
Jones being an. embezzler. Jones never
erpezzied at all.

tectlves were called off the case. “Jones

used on ‘his spree will be returned, 80
that neither: bondsman will suffer. It
seems that Revsbach’s reason for ob-
taining the warrant for Jone’s arrest
fom Judge Jordan was not that he
might wreak vengeance on Sonex, but
thut he might save Junes from the likely
wmth of hie fellow-bondsman, Louis
Blue, whose possible actions ifhe dis-
covered the state of affaire—Blue- was
away on business—were considered by.
