The very frank statements con- tained in the interview with the vice-president of the War Eagle and Centre Star mining companies which appears in another column of this issue, will undoubtedly be of inter- est to all Rossland people. Many matters that have merely been hinted at previously, are now very plainly and openly asserted, and the future policy of the two big cor- Pp i is stated in language. There is no mincing of words, and it is to be hoped, for the welfare of the whole community, that it will wipe out an undercur- rent of uncertainty which has existed for some time, and which seems to have put a damper on the business activity of the community. When the récent labor questions were ad- justed that was the end of it. The results appear to be more satisfac- tory to all concerned, and with the present amicable relations existing on all sides, itis to be hoped that no occasion will arise for-any cessa- tion of work. As Mr. Blackstock says, Ross- land must get down to a business basis, and there is no better evi- dence of permanence than exist i the fact that so many wage earners are acquiring their own homes. of the games will be played off on Monday.
