Currently located at 279 Columbia Avenue in downtown Castlegar, the business was start- ed by Peter and Ann Zaytsoff in the basement of their home in the Slocan Valley during the very early 1960's, “In those days I started by ser- vicing black and white T.V.'s throughout the surrounding area,” said Peter. “We've come quite a ways since then.” ‘That's an understatement. The i has grown since it started in the owner’s basement. After locating into a - 600 square-foot building in Castlegar, improvements started taking shape, including additions and ions to the building milestone in business. the three Zaytsoff children’ were involved, and today, family mem- bers play a major role in main- taining the business's success. “It's been a family business from the very beginning,” said Peter, who now proudly watchés over as his children and even grandchildren continue the tradi- tion. Sons Pete Jr. and Ron provide expertise regarding stereo and audio equipment, while his ; daughter Shirley, and Ron’s wife Nadine manage the business's large tape and compact disk sales division. Shirley’s daughter, 18- year-old Stacy, as well as Pete Jr.'s 13-year-old son Bradley have also taken a welcome inter- est in the business.
