Rebels Dan McDonald picked up a star award even though he was injured and left tlie ice late'in the third period. At - the other end, Colts’ goalie Don Cloarec was equal to the task. < : The Colts started strong and one of. their. forwards, Larry Deluca, walked in unmolested. and tested McDonald with only one minute gone in the game. Rebels Jim -Smith was good- at winning most of his face-offs and was first to score on a.first-timer to the top corner. Hindmarsh and Stooshnow, picked up the assists. ~ Colts first goal was scored by Fred Paton on a deflection with. the shot coming from the point. Referee Gord Hoover from Nelson kept the game well in hand by calling . many minor penalties. Often, as is the case, tempers flare and retaliatory in- fractions of the-rules are met with penalties. With Rebels Nazaroff and. Colts Guizzo both‘off for a little: stick work, Rebels “new kid on the block” — Bill Sofiak — scored unassisted while Rebels were short-handed.
