Another swimmer: who impressed Seghers was:Dave Shingler who recorded his lowest time ever in the 100 meter breast and picked up a silver medal for his efforts. Seghers said the team’s spirit was high after all the members got together the Friday before the races for spaghetti dinner and a night of videos and Pictionary. Besides Pinkerton and the Shingler children, the other River Otters who qualified for the provincials were Kim Verigin— he won silver in two events (50 free and 100 free)—and his sister Kristy who won a bronze (100 free), Elsa Wyllie (50 Fly), and Torrie Lahue (100 fly). The club has a meet in Creston next week, and then the follow- ing weekend the team will split ~ between those travelling to Coquitlam, and a B meet in Greenwood.
