Evans gained his ex- perience in training and breeding dogs during his 11 years as a monk at the New Skete Monastery in New York. Evans co-authored (with the monks) the award-win- ning How to be Your Dog's Best Friend. He also writes monthly columns in Dog Fancy, Cat Fancy and Horse Illustrated magazines, tea- ches seminars all over North America, runs his own busi- ness in New York city called “Patience of Job: Training for Dogs“and People,” and serves as a member of the advisory board of the Hu- mane Society of New York.
