PACE 6 CASTLEGAR NEWS, CASTLEGAR, B.C, , THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 1957 THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF CASTLEGAR BY-LAW No.. 113 Being a By-law of The Corporation of the Village of Castlegar, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Corporation’, to authorize the construction of certain waterworks and the borrowing of the estimated cost thereof. : WHEREAS it is deemed and to certain waterworks to serve the inhabitants of the Village of Cast- Jegar and in that behalf to authorize the Board of Commissioners to undertnke and cause to be carried out the construction of the said werks.and to borrow upon the credit of the Corporation the estimated cost thercof, that is to say One Hundred and Ten Thous- and Dollars ($110,000.00) which is the amount of the debt intended to be created by this by-law; AND WHEREAS there is presently outstanding on ipal f th i account of e of the issut to By-laws Nos. 26 and 34 of the Corporation the total sum of Forty-Six Thous- and Six Hundred Dollars ($46,600.00) only and the Corporation has no other existing debenture debt; AND WHEREAS the assessed value of the taxable lapd and improvements within the said Village of Castlegar according to the last revised assessment roll, being the assessment roll for the year 1957, is One Million Five Hundred Forty-Five Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars ($1,545,422.00); Mi AND WHEREAS pursuant to paragraph (b) of Section 32 of the Schedule to the “Village Municipalities Act” being chapter 236 of the Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1948, the project to | which this by-law relates and the terms of this by-law including the nature of the securities to be issued and the terms of repayment have been submitted in detail to the Inspector of Municipalities and have received his approval; AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 28 of the “Health Act”, being chapter 141 of the Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1948, an engincer’s report, namely, that of B, C. Affleck, ‘M.E.LC., dated the 7th day of January 1957, as well as estimates and general plans have been filed with the said Minister and a provisional certificate has been received from the Provincial Health Officer stating the matters therein by the said Section required to be stated; NOW THEREFORE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF CASTLEGAR in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: L That the Board of Commissioners shall be and is hereby em- an i: to take and carry out or cause to be carried out, the construction of the waterworks shown and described in the general plans filed with the Minister of Health as above recited, and to do all things necessary in connection therewith and without limiting the generality of the foregoing that is to say:— (a) To operate and maintain the aforesaid works; sf o! that of Greyhawk contract.
