The kokanee fishing at Balfour this year was poor as ex] . ‘The 1970-73-76 cycle of ko- kanee (three-year-olds) in the West Arm is comparatively a weak year class, The 1976 catch was approximately 25,000 com- pared to nearly 100,000 in 1976 and 68,000 in 1974, The good news is that fisheries staff expect the 1977 kokanee season at Balfour to be very good.
