March 15, 1989 VOICGy.a“< cs In memory Fred Lindstrom Fred Lindstrom passed away March 6 in Kootenay.Lake Hospital at age 100. Mr. Lindstrom was born in Sweden in 1889 and came from Stan- wood, Wash., toSalmo in 1919 where he logged with his brothers Ed and Otto in 1949, he and his wife Phyllis moved to Slocan City where they ran the Halfway House Cafe until retiring in 1959. Mr. Lindstrom enjoyed baseball, curling, fishing and gardening In addition to his wife Phyllis, he leaves three daughters, Shirley Christofferson\ of Aggasiz and Naomi Lindstrom of San Francisco; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Don Mousel and their daughter Lise of Reno. His family also includes Phyllis Lindstrom’s children Anne Quen: neville, Jim Barkley, Robert Barkley and Daphne Angus and their children. The date of the memorial service was not available at press time _Dorothy Hirst Silverton resident Dorothy (nee Hunter) Senning Hirst died Feb. 14 at Trail Regional Hospital at the age of 79. A native daughter of the Slocan Valley, Mrs. Hirst was born in Silver ton March 11, 1909. She enjoyed meeting people, as well as participating in activities at St. Stephen's Anglican Church in New Denver. She enjoyed knitting and cultivating flowers, and was an active member of the Pythian Sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Senning of Delta; son William Senning of Toronto; two sisters, Shirley Copping and Helen Chester; and one brother, E.F. (Bizz) Hunter Funeral services were held at St. Stephens Anglican Church in New Denver, with interment at Glenbank Cemetery in Nakusp, Rev. Ken Bond officiating.
