Current pho- phs of the bridge and adja- Members of the Save Our Footbridge Committee have been busy over the past few weeks ing a slide/tape prog to various community groups. Entitled “Castlegar Footbridge A Key to the Past/ A Key to the Future”, the 23-minute program is composed of three parts. The historical component traces the development of com- munities on both sides of the Columbia River in the vicinity of the CPR crossing. The next por- tion of the program examines the CPR bridge and the area adj; cent area which were taken last December are also an integral part of the program. As the original presentation has been well received, the Save Our Footbridge Committee decided to transfer it to video tape for broadcast to the commu- nity on the commiunity channel. As slides do not copy well onto video, the historical section was completely re-mastered from original source material and a few additional photographs were inserted. Original slides were used in the remaining sections. This p ion will be aired to it as they are now, The last part looks at future prospects if the group is success- ful in preserving the right of public passage across us his- toric bridge. The slide/tape program was prepared by Walter Volovsek, using archival material from var- for the first time tonight on the community channel. It will also be shown at 12:30 p.m. March 23 and 10:30 p.m. March 26. “As April will be a make it or break it month for the footbridge, an expression of strong public support for this project is sought,” Volovsek said.
