The production crew is here to shoot The Year of the Dragon which is to star Mickey Rourke who appeared in Dimer and The Pope of Greenwich Village. It will be directed by Michae! Cimino, who directed The Deerhunter, which won five Academy Awards, and Heaven's Gate, which flopped at the box office. Cimino also wrote the script based, on a novel by Robert Daley. The film is to be distributed by MGM-UA. Company spokesman Peter Benoit estimated that the cost of the film will be average — about $12 million. Once it has completed filming here, the company will travel to Vancouver for two weeks of shooting before going on to New York, North Carolina and southeast Asia.
