Joseph Walsh came in last evening from Shield’s Landing and says that , it is the general impression in that locali- ty that Charles Herrington and James Langsley were not drowned in Lower Arrow lake, a8 was reported. It ae that they had rigged a boat with sails, and were taking sand across the lake for the purpose of making mortar to chink theircabin, and as they had not been seen afterwards the romor was started that they were drowned. Credence was given to the rumor be- cause an oar and glove was found on the lake. Mr. Waleh says there was a man drowned in that vicinity, bat he had not learned his name, and that the glove and oar ar ethought to have belonged to him. REBECCA LODGE. INSTALLED.
