RETURN TO PROGRAMS A-Z hy SKI RESORT RISK MANAGEMENT - ONLINE Learn to effectively manage risk in any aspect of ski area operations from the top of the mountain to base area operations and services. This course is designed for people currently working in any capacity, in any type or size of ski area operation. In particular, this benefits anyone with risk management responsibilities in Canadian ski resorts; risk managers, operations managers, ski patrollers, supervisors or managers in any department from Food & Beverage to Snow School. COURSE OBJECTIVES You will learn to assess and manage the risks ski areas face on a day-to-day basis using actual case studies and online discussions about current industry issues and solutions with students in other resorts across the country. This course will provide an accessible and practical training tools. Participants will understand the “big picture” of Risk Management to develop strategies and tactical plans for their area of responsibility. Topics of study include risk identification and evaluation, risk control, skier and snowboarder safety, legal liability and waivers, workplace safety, administration and documentation, emergency planning, risk financing and insurance. A series of assignments will lead you through the development of a risk management plan for one department of your ski area. Coursework can be done at any time, day or night. There are no scheduled login times.
