IN MEMORY - Edna Schulte On Monday, Dec. 7, 1992, Edna Schulte of Castlegar passed away at the age of 79 years. Mrs. Schulte was born May 29, 1913, at Bellvue, Ont. She grew up and received her nurses training in Ontario. She joined the army and worked as a nurse in North Africa. After her discharge from the army, she worked as a nurse in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, Alta. She also worked in the first aid department at Cominco. She married Edward Schulte in 1953 in Castlegar. After her retirement from nursing Mrs. Schulte was very ac- tive in the Canadian Cancer Society. She enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She is survived by one son, Michael of Kelowna, three daughters, Janet Makortoff of Fairview, Shirley Saville of Winnipeg and Phyllis Oglow of Calgary. She is also sur- vived by three grandchildren She was predeceased by her husband and two broth- ers. By her request, there will be no funeral service and cre- mation has taken place. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel. Reinhold Bauer On Thursday, Dec. 3, 1992, Reinhold Bauer of Vernon passed away at the age of 64 years. Mr. Bauer was born Dec. 28, 1927 at Romanawaka Wolyn, Poland. He came to Canada with his parents in 1932 and settled in Saskatchewan. After a short time, the family moved to Rimbey, Alta., where he grew up. He moved to Sicamous in 1950. During his life he lived in Penticton, Castlegar, Revelstoke and retired to Vernon in 1990. He married Alice Folland in 1953. He worked as a welder and me- chanic. Mr. Bauer was a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 115. He enjoyed tinkering and woodworking. Mr. Bauer is survived by his wife, Alice of Vernon; son, Dan Silta of Kirkland, Wash.; two daughters, Sylvia MacKinnon of Vernon and Diana McLeod of Fairview; spe- cial nephew, Bruce Gardiner; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Albert of Vancouver and Emil of Rimbey, Alta.; four sisters, Ruth Caza, Elsie Oro, Esther Finnegan and Gloria Swanson all of Alberta. Mr. Bauer was cremated and his ashes were shipped to Rimbey, Alta for burial. A service of remembrance will be held at a later date in Vernon.
