Sorenson & Family By Lois Mughes News Editor Hockey games are won and atatistics declaring the winners and losers are religously kept, but there were no losers in the recent encounters with local players und the visiting Bagar- mossen Nordia “Nordle VI- kings" Bantam and Midget hockey players from Sweden. ‘This was very ovident at a civie dinner Thursday night at the Hi Arrow Arms, as the nine-day visit drew near its end with the Swedish:visitors leav- ing for home from Spokane on Saturday, The dinner was an evening of comradeship, with toasts from both guests and hosts nnd numerous gifts and momentos exchanged by both visitors and guests alike. Members of the Swedish exchange committee were also recognized for their hard work. There are only three arenas in Stock- holm, a cily of over one million, and ice time is scarce. Tt was related how Harry Smith, who was the main instigator of the exchange, had taken the young players onto the ice at the Castlegar Arena carly that morning for extra instruction. One member of the Swedish contingent credited the boys with ‘learning more hockey in the past soven days than they had in eight years in Sweden.
