Since it will soon be Canadian will be observed from June 2-8. Environmental awareness for Canadians touches on many sub- jects, including such things as air quality, water quality, acid rain, soil erosion, destruction of the earth's ozone layer, deforestation, pollution and many more concerns too numerous to list. Almost all Canadians are con- cerned about these issues and would like to know what can be done to reduce or elimi the Week, why not make a personal commitment to doing something to help reduce or eliminate an environmental problem? Even if you only com- mit to one area of improvement, at least you've done something worthwhile. Anything you do in this regard is better than taking no action at all. Consider the three R’s: reducing, reusing and_ recycling. Each one of these principles is a good guide to minimizing the en- related to problems. Many peoplé look to governments and big companies for answers. But how many people look at the same issues in a more introspective manner? How many people ask them- the goods we use and dispose of on a daily basis. The challenge is yours — after all, if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
