PHIPPS There were rumbles of strange jubilation in a dark educational lait, for the principal was having a birthday, and his colleagues were gathering there. “HOORAH!" groaned the teachers and secretaries, as they pelted each other with chalk. “HOORAY!” shrieked the support staff and parents while the janitors rattled their mops. “HOORAY!” screamed the superintendent. “HOORAY!” boomed the board members too. “REJOICE!” “HOORAY!” piped a tiny Grade Two'er in an almost inaudible voice. "HOORAY!" cackied the Russian bi-linguals “HOORAY!” hissed the English kids too. They whistled, they squawked, they applauded, when they gleefully found out his age. “HE'S FIFTY!" they screamed in amazement. The sound echoed and made the schoo! shake!
