The dresses featured short pouf sleeves, fitted bodices to the hips with a full peplum elegantly gath- ered at the hip with a large bow. Teal blue satin shoes completed their ensemble. Each young woman carried a lace fan adorned with pink and teal flowers, baby’s breath and white and blue lace ribbon. The women wore a single strand of pearls with earrings to match, a gift from the bride. ‘The precious little flower girl, Kimberly Pakula, niece of the bride, was dressed in a floor- length teal blue satin dress with ruffled white lace on the bodice down the back and around the hem. Reverend Dr. David A. Spence officiated ;lhe ceremony. ' Church decorations included two standing baskets of mixed silk flowers at the altar with mauve ribbons marking the pews. The bride wore a white satin gown, the V-shaped bodice fea- tured sequins, pearls and lace. The back opened to V-gathered, puffed sleeves with inlaid sequins, and a six-foot train edged in lace. The veil was waist-length under a flo- ral spray headband with tulle and pouffe. Complimeniing their outfits was a white rose boutonniere. o98 Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs, Stoushnow ©” Davis/Lake wed in Port Moo | PROFILE Fire Departments frolic in smoke and water ‘Robson competition makes for good fun and good practice | Fire alarms rang, smoke drifted and water flew in every direction as firemen and women from numerous fire depart- ments scurried to and fro in their attempts to be the quickest at the Robson Fire Department Hose Lay Competition. Fire Department teams came from Nelson, Ootischenia, North Shore, Castlegar North, Post Falls Idaho and Robson. There were eight men’s teams and three ladie’s teams. The day included a breakfast at 7 a.m., an all-day beer gar- den and lunch. Beer Barrel, Make and Break, House Rescue, Charity Hose Reel and Bucket Brigade were. among the different firemans competitions to be seen.
