In the following pages we have printed as many entries as possible. Join us now and delight in the talent of our chil- dren. 1st Place: ht and under The wind was howling this Christmas Eve as Santa and his reindeer landed in m;y front yard. I had just got to sleep because I had a cold. I heard a noise and I woke up and went tosee what the noise was. Then to my surprise there stood Santa wiping the soot off his jack- et. He said “Why are you still up?” I said, “I heard you fall. Are you all right?” “No, Robert, I hurt my leg.” said Santa. “I will get my par- ents to take you to the hopsital,” I told him. “All right”, said Santa. So, I woke up my par- ents, and told them that Santa had hurt his leg. They got up, and took him to the hopsi- tal, and I went back to sleep, because I knew that my parents would look after him. Santa returned the next day leaving a simple note “Thank you, Friend for Christmas is saved.” Robert Hickey Age 8 2nd Place: Eight and under The wind was howling this Christmas eve as Santa and his Reindeer landed on my front yard. I was sleeping with my favorite reindeer. While my mom and dad were wrapping pre- sents and my Dad looked at the clock and said to my mom, “It is 9:00 and there were 20 pre- sents to wrap.” They had to wrap 15 more pre- sents. Then they had 5 more presents to wrap. And I woke up. I went to my mom and dad and I said to my mom and dad “When are you going to bed?” At 10:00, go to bed now, David, When it was 10:00 my mom and dad went to bed. When it was 12:00 Santa came in the house and put some presents under the tree. He put 5 pre- sents under the tree. The cookies were put out for santa. Santa started eating the cookies and he drank his milk and he ate his cookies all up. Then he went back the chimney and he said, “Ho, ho, Merry Christmas!” He finished the neighborhood. Santa was off to Castlegar. Santa went to my friend Robert Hickey’s house. Santa went down the chimney and he went to the Chrismtas tree. Santa put 4 presents under thetree. Santa filled the stockings with toys. Santa went to my friend Matt’s. He went down the chimney. Santa put 4 presents under the tree. Santa filled the stockings with toys. Santa was on the last stop. He was done and when he was getting in his sled, Santa said, “Go reindeer.” ‘When Santa arrived at the North Pole he got out of the sled. He checked the back of the sled to see if some toys were left. When San- ta looked in the sled he was surprised to see 30 gifts from the kids round the world. And san- ta was so surprised he just about fell over. Santa took the gifts into his house. When San- ta finished opening the gifts that the kids gave Santa for Christmas Santa got in bed, he said Thank you for the gifts kids. See you next Christmas. Santa returned the next day leav- ing a simple note, “Thank you Friend for Christmas is Saved.” D. Martin Age 8 3rd Place: Eight and under The wind was howling on Christmas Eve when Santa and his reindeer landed in my front yard. Was it true? Could it really be him? Before I could say one more word he begged, “Please help me. Scrooge has cut Rudolph’s hoof and we can’t take him tonight because he leads us.” “I do not know,” I stammered because I froze at seeing Santa! “Please I just had enough magic to get here, because it was the first house I saw.” “Well, O.K..” I said. “Thank you! Now do you have any ideas?” “Oh yes why don’t we burn Scrooge’s house down?” “We can't because kids would not like to see me in jail!” * “Hey, I think I have a horse shoe magnet in my garage. We could use it for Rudolph’s hoof,’ ‘Tsaid. “That's great thinking!” screamed Santa. For a minute Santa got worried. “What if it does not fit?”cried Santa! “Sure it will,” I said. “My brother had a horse and itw as just about the same size as Rudolph’s hoof.” “Well, then,” whispered Santa (he did not want to wake the neighbours). “Then let's give it a try.” “I do not know where my brother put it, so I will have to look. About 15 minutes later they found it and they tried on Rudolph’s hoof and sure enought it fit! Santa flew off into the sky with Rudolph leading with his nose glowing. Santa returned the next day leaving a sim- ple note: “Thank you my friend, for Christmas is saved.” Jennifer Postnikoff Age 8 nen ahaa a Ring in a Happy Holiday.
