Diane, Louise Nassaney,
23, an American citizen liv-
ing in Castlegar, was fined
$250 or in default one
month in jail when she ap-
peared in court here on
Wednesday of last week
charged. with possession of
Marijuana.

The charge resulted
from an incident which oc-
curred July 18 when a plas-
tie bag containing four cub-
es of hashish and a pipe was
thrown from a car near the
Castlegar Hotel.

Besides the fine she is
also placed on two. years
probation on the condition
she remain outside Canada
for two years as of Jan. 1,
1973.

Hospitalized
After Accident

Two local men were
hospitalized following a sin-
gle vehicle accident report-
ed at 8.35 p.m. Sunday on
the Robson Road near Park-
dale Trailer Court.

Vanjoff, both of Castle;
Were reported’ by, : police
Monday. to be, doing ,well in
the Castlegar and Distelet

. Markin, driver of

the 1972 pick-up, is report-
ed to have told police he

saw a young girl in the

moiddle of the road and the

truck wheel caught in the
soft shoulder of the road.
The vehicle then struck a
utility pole and rolled down
a bank into the Columbia

River.

Mr. Vanjoff was tossed
free while Mr. Markin was
pulled from the vehicle.
The incident is still un-
der investigation. ©
