JUNIOR BALL CLUBS MEETING:

On Wed. Apr. 27th the executive of-
ficers of four district junior ball
clubs held a meeting in Castlegar. It
was decided to form a league with four
teams participating. The following is
the executive of the respective teams: .
Castlegar: Coach Cliff Wanless

Manager N. T. Oglow
Kinnaird: Coach & Manager Joe Burrows

It is hoped that these four teams
will be able to provide top-notch en-
tertainment in so far as junior soft-
ball is concerned.

In the opening game of the season
Castlegar will meet Kinnaird at
Castlegar on May 1lith.

LETTER [0 THE EDITOR: :

I would appreciate being granted
space in your newspaper for the purpose
of asking a few questions pertinent to
the use of Castlegar's road equipment
and which I believe to be in the inter—
ests of all property owners in this
districte

Most of we property owners and house—
holders in Castlegar, were overjoyed
when we learned of the purchase of the
modern, versatile bulldozer early this
spring, especially after the difficult—
ies encountered during the phenomenal
winter just past. Even though we all
know the cost of such equipment must be
met by the taxpayers, we felt that the
outlay would surely be worth the money
in benefits generallye Now, instead of
being told that there was no equipment
or time for needed road repairs or roadg
we were confident that with the coming
of spring, both would be available,
within reason, of courses

Much to my surprise, I see (at the
time of writing this letter) that our
new bulldozer is busy making new roads
around a practically undeveloped sec—
tion! at the same time filling in a
very undesirable low spot there as welld

No doubt our Road Commissioner has a
good reason for helping to make sale-
able this property; new homes may be
puilt bringing new revenues to our Vil-
