If the tourna- ment gets any bigger, we will have to clear out another acre ‘or two just to accommodate the cars, They were parked to overflowing and all the way back along the road to the 17th tee. ‘The ovent was a huge success and the credit must go to the hard working tourna- ment committee under the capable leadership of Lloyd Ish. ‘There were very few hitches and these were cleared up in very short order. The weather was ideal and there was some beautiful golf played both days. For the first time in the history of the tournament the championship was won by a golfer from across the line. Pat ‘Welch, who golfs out of Spo- kane's Downriver Golf Club, “shot precision golf both days to take top apot with a sparkling 147 for the 36 holes. This Is just three over par and certainly makes Pat a worthy winner. Pat was fol- _ lowed closely by fellow towns- man Jack Sheehan, three ‘ sires back'at 150, ip local boy was Willie ShersUbitet who took low net honors in the Championship * Plight with 188. Tied with Willie was ex-Castlegarite Den- nis Quinlan, who- moved ‘to Prizes were awarded for Sunday's play only, This excluded any previous winners.
