Last Week's Games Rebels Lose to Warriors, Jr. Smoke Eaters ” Rebels Got 36 Shots on Goal a Against ‘Trail’s 32 but Final Score in Friday's Game was in Favor of the Trail Jr. Smoke Eaters, 4-2 ‘Ina ‘complete’ turnabout from. their last week's. per- formance, the Castlegar Rebels dropped two matches over the weekend. Friday's 4-2 loss was to Trail Jr. Smoke Eaters on home ‘ice, and Saturday the Rebels were downed 3-2 by the Rossland Warriors in overtime * play in Rossland. + Itwasaclose match Friday night in Castlegar with a 1-1 score after the first and 22 after the second period. Two unanswered goals in the final frame put the gathe in the bag for Trail. Scoring for the Rebels were Dave Kirby and Tim Paul, whilg. Trail marksmen were Gary Gwillem, James Beamish, Barry Zanier and Rick Dimore. Rick Hlookoff kicked out 36 shots for Ci while Trail’s Mike ‘Oliver's tong shot from just inside the blue line put the Warriors ahead at 4:37 of the final period. Danny | Walker tied the score for tho Rebels with four minutes left in the game to send it into over- time, "In the’sudden death over- time period, Pat Lilburn picked up the puck ‘near the Rebels’ net and fired in the winner. Assists went to Bob Godfrey and Billy Nazaroff. It was a penalty-marred game with the Rebels assessed nine minors, one game mis- conduct and two gross mis- conducts in the first period. Of the 83 minutes in penalties, Castlegar took 38, The Rebels host’ Rossland this Friday; then ‘travel to Cranb on Steve Hanley turned back 32 shots. Castlegar sat out four minor penalties to Trail’s five. The recreation department, in con- junction with the two business- men's associations, has made arrangements for sania to pay a visit,’ Santa will be arriving at Kinsmen Park around 10 a.m. and from there will tour the downtown streets and the plaza before making his stop at the Community Complex. - Once he arrives at the complex around 11 a.m., Santa will be available to chat with all interested children.
