wed in Castlegar

Samual Peter Stoopnikoff, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stoop-
nikoff of Winlaw, and Cindy
Leigh Jones (nee Hlady), daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hlady of
Mayne Island, B.C., were married
at the home of the bride and
groom in Castlegar Dec. 30 at 2
p.m.

Polly Chernoff officiated “and
the bride was given in marriage by
her father. The bride and her
father walked down the hall to the
New Wedding Song.

The maid of horior was Janis
Beaumont of Langley. Steven Ev-
dokimoff of South Slocan stood
as best man. Matthew and Jacob
Jones of Castlegar, the ‘bride’s
sons and groom’s stepsons, acted
as ushers.

The bride wore an ivory-colored
mid-length satin jacket and a satin

skirt with a full chiffon overlaya

She wore an ivory-colored satin
rose and baby’s breath in her hair
with beads that came down on one
side of her hair. Her bouquet was
of yellow lilies and greenery.

A single pearl-drop necklace,
given-to the bride-by her brother
Bryan Hlady, completed the
bridal assembly.

The maid of honor wore a two-
piece wool suit in winter white
with a green satin blouse. She
carried a smaller version of the
bride’s bouquet of yellow lilies

A reception was held at the
home of the bride and groom
followed by a dinner at the
Fireside Place restaurant

business meeting, it was agreed to ex-
tend a letter of appreciation to the
Robson-Raspberry Women’s
Auxiliary to the fire department for
enabling the seniors to have a bake
table at the auxiliary’s annual Valen:
tine tea and bake sale Feb. 14
