Clean hands thoroughly by spreading a small amount of Hibltane skin cleanser all over hands. Add a small amount of water and work up suds. Then rinse thoroughly. ‘Wet face with lukewarm water. Pour small amount of Hibitane skin cleanser on palms of hands of on moist piece of absorbent cotton. Work up suds and rub gently into face. Rinse. Repeat procedure as above and gently massage suds into skin for 4-5 minutes. I more sudsing is required, merely add a hitle water. Rinse again with lukewarm water and pat face gently dry with a soft towel This routine should be repeated several times daily to assure complete cleansing and antisepsis. She will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Mrs. Myrtle Symons. Librarian Jean Turner reported that a summer read- ing program will be initiated June 18, and will run to Aug. 20. It will be held from 3 to 5, with Mrs. Walton assisting. Charts have been made to record each child's progress, Certificates will be awarded at the end of the program. A record player has been donated for the story hour by Mrs. Jodi Ritter of Robson. The new Canadiana Ency- clopedia has been purchased with part of the funds from the Kroener Foundation grant. It is now on the shelf. The library had a busy month with circulation of 1,101 books. Of these, 626 were adult books and 475 juvenile books, This is a 32.9 per cent increase over May of last year. There were 19 new members re- gistered. Asa point of interest a number of new magazines have been added to the collection, They are: Popular Mechanics, Better Homes and Gardens, Nature Canada, Canadian Geo- graphical, Canadian Pulp and Paper and Hockey Pictorial. Mrs.’ Bélle Roberts gave a detailed and informative report of the B.C. Library Association Conference at Vernon which she recently attented. Mrs. Roberts generously presented a cheque to the board for the purchase of a tape- recorder, especially to help with the children's reading program. The board would like to bring to the attention of anyone interested the availability of a librarians’ correspondence course. Castlegar Man Fined $200 For Over .08 Kenneth Price, 44, of Castlegar, was fined $200 or in default 30 days’ jail after pleading guilty in court here Monday before Judge R. Van Patten to a charge of driving with a blood alcohol’ content above .08 per cent. His driver's licence was also suspended for 30 days. The charge resulted froma routine check Saturday.
