HOT-METAL LINOTYPE, a model 5 manufactured in June 1913, ‘was donated last week to the Museum by the News. The Linotype served the Castlegar News for 25 years and ‘was recently retired from service. Bankert and Toft Masorry Contractors used their front-end loader to move the 2,000 Ib. machine while Castlegar Equipment Rentals constructed a special of equipment with selativee ease. The Linotype set the news columns of the Castlegar News until the installation of four years ago.
