The plebiscite regarding the sale of the Com- munity Hall property, 1s one of the most important and cru- cial questions, the Castlegar ratepayers, have yet been asked to decide. On this decision, a large part of what Castlegar wiil be in the future, depends, We do not wish to urge either a “yes” or a “no” vote on this plebiscite. But we do urge, and very strongly, that every- one entitled to do so, does vote. There are strong arguements for both sides of the issue. Therefore whatever individual’s conviction, it is for his own and the vilage’s best interests that he examine both sides be- fore indicating his decision. In summary, we repeat, the course of Castlegar History will be determined next Thursday. It is up to every eligible voter to ensure it will be according to the wishes of the majority. Vote as you beleive to be best, but be sure to vote, year officials from the Salvation Army post in Rossland attended one of our regular meetings. At that time they stated very blunt- ly that unless the Society gave them at least double that amount they would cease being an agency of the K.-R.C. and move into our district and make their own can- vass. This they seem to have done. The Board of Directors would like to point out that the Society has not the power to stop any organization from making an in- dependant_canvass for funds but it suggests that any person or firm, | contributing to the K.R.C, who is approached by a canvasser should immediately refer the can- vasser to our Society, saying that he is an active supporter and does not donate to appeals outside the Society. By doing this he will greatly assist the Board in car- rving.out the main function of the K.R.C.. namely — “To centralize Trail Kinsmen Second Annual Radio Auction and Bazaar of the Air Friday, Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. - Over Radio Station ” CIA T.
