Letter to the Editor Objects fo Protestors Methods Dear Sir: Within our democratic way of doing things, we are most fortunate to be able to speak our minds, to give soap-box oritories and to carry signs of protest. Iam not particularly op- posed to groups who wish to expound on their alleged causes. Their methods do infur- iate me when they impede my civil Hberties. Such an incident occurred last Saturday after- noon. My wife and I were driving to Trail when we came upon a roadblock, some eight miles south of Castlegar. That is correct, a roadblock; one sta- thon wagon and two pickup trucks parked in such a way that they completely blocked > the bighway. recelved was, "No way, mister!" Had I reacted to my | inclinations then I would, no doubt, have been arrested.
