WEP & L representatives attended Monday’s council meeting to endeavor to iron out past differences between the power company and council. The mall will be built on the ellipti- cal site behind Castleaird Plaza near Highway 3. — . bah @ Saturday, December 21, 1991 Valley Vista Elementary School presented its annual concert Dec. 12, titled ‘Christmas Thoughts '91.’ Prior to the concert, Grade 2 student Alycia Lakevold pre- sented Hazel Kirkwood with a bouquet of flowers, marking the vice principal's last year at the school. News photos by Aon Norman IN MEMORY On Thursday, Dec. 12, 1991 Roger Archambault of Castlegar passed away at the age of 65 years.’ Funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, Dec. 16, 1992 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church with Father Herman Engberink doing the service. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Archambault was born Sept. 1, 1926 at St. Amelle, Manitoba. He moved to Creston with his parents as a small boy . He grew up in Creston and moved to Trail in the early 1940s to work for Cominco and in the late 1940s he moved to Castlegar. On Oct. 12, 1950 he married June Spencer at Castlegar. Mr. Archambault worked for Cominco for 37 years. After retiring from Cominco he worked for School District No. 9 as a school bus driver for six and a half years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 170, Castlegar Golf Club and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Mr. Archambault is survived by his wife, June, two sons, Ted of Trail and Neil of Castlegar, three daughters, Janie MacAlpine of Castlegar, Louise Lummerding of Vancouver and Bernadette Archambault of Edmonton, six grandchildren, two brothers, Rene of Castlegar and Ed of Port Alberni, four sis- ters, Alma Walls of Kelowna, Rita McLaren of Dawson Creek, Noella Bonin of Comox and Theresa Archambault of Edmonton. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Cam and Rudolph, and two sis- ters, Laurientine Gariepy and Lucinne Racicot. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Fund or the Charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel. say goodbye to 1991 activities __ The Robson-Raspberry Seniors No. 146 held its last meet- ing on Dec. 1. Installation ceremonies took place and elected officers are: President — Armand Berg. 1st Vice — Muriel Stetsko. 2nd Vice — Edith Berg. Treasurer — John Stetsko. Secretary — Mary Plotnikoff. Directors — Ken Eaton and Dave Adshead. Following the ceremony a delicious buffet prepared by Rober- ta Zurek and helpers was enjoyed.
