Each zone is allowed two competitors per event and indi vidual competitors’ are permitted to enter in a maximum of three events. Track events range in length from 100m to 3000m plus hurdle events. There are also try-outs for the octathlon and pentathlon Starting Friday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. Once qualified for an event the athletes will receive free transportation to the B.C, Sum mer Games in Chilliwack, meals and accommodatign. There will be 5,000 athletes competing in the games. For further information on the trials should contact their school track coach or Roger Toogood at 429-3442 John Mandryk before May 14 to let their interest be known This year the B.C. Summer games is placing an emphasis on developing new racers. There will be four competition cate- gories: Cadet racers (age 14-15); Junior (16-18); Senior Category : 4 and 5 racers (19-34); and Veter an Category 3, 4, and 5 racers (35 and over). In order to compete, cyclists need to be licensed to race by Cycling BC. If competition is needed to select the team, race results up to June 7 will be con- sidered.
