The toll that traffic accidents — in-
cluding those related with reckless driving
and alcohol abuse — has taken on the lives
of an alarming number of motorists has
spurred renewed proposals for the raising of
the driving age. Prop say that despi
young drivers’ mastery of required driving
skills they are not mature enough at the age
of 16 for the responsibility of operating a
motor vehicle. Opp of such proposal:
say raising the driving age would not be
necessary if licence examination
requirements were tougher and laws
prohibiting impaired driving were enforced
more vigorously. What do you say?

Should we make
prostitution legal?

“Children Need Models!”

I have a 18-year-old son
who would agree wholehearted-
ly with the title of this article,
for his first thought would be
that he was receiving parental
okay to pick out another model
ear, or aeroplane, or truck to
build.

Such “model building" can
be fun, it can be creative, (and
expensive) but the kinds of
models ¥ have in mind are
significant adults who provide a
“model” for the growing child
to pattern his/her life after.

Parents have the oppor-
tunity to be these kinds of
models for their children, for
the child sees his parents in all
the varied situations of life.

“Parents are Models”

Whether parents realize it
or not... they are models for
their children each and every
day. We are showing our chil-
dren daily the attitudes we

have’ toward ourselves, toward -

God and: toward others. We
show them our “value system"

by how we spend our time and
our money,
