The rent maximum is $225 per month for singles, $245 for couples. These levels were increased March 1, 1980, forms renters age 65 and over, the Human Resources Ministry offers SAFER — Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters. It pays 75. are required once a year to ensure that senior citizens are receiving all the benefits to which they are entitled,” per cent of the amount by Mrs. McCarthy explained. “Forms were mailed to all SAFER recipients in May, and these must be returned by July 1, if benefits are to continue without interrup- tion.” An interruption in ben- efits may result if forms are returned after July 1. In such cases the reciplent will not receive his first cheque for the new benefit year until August or September. These cheques would include benefits retro- active to July 1, provided that the form is received by Aug- ust 31.
