It was at this time Leanne was struggling to overcome her mother's untimely death, and as a result, she leaned ‘heavily on her strong sense of faith. Not only did her faith carry her through this hard time in her life, it impacted her decision for a future proféssion. After receiving a BA is psychology and theology, Leanne is pursuing her Masters: of Divinity at the Toronto School of Theology. Part of this program includes an eight-month intern- ship, the first half of which she is completing in Castlegar, working under the direction of United church Minister Ann Pollock. Even though Leanne has recently arrived in Castlegar, she is feeling very much at home, and is appreciative of the friendly Leanne also commented on the breathtaking scenery of the West Kootenay, and spoke about the recent retreat she took to Lemon Creek Lodge along with other women from her parish It was a great opportunity to meet people." Getting to know people and understanding them plays a huge role in Leanne's work in the church. Aiding the spiritual growth in others can be a frus- trating challenge at times, but Leanne has entered her calling with both eyes open—and some heritage. Her father was a minister as well, and Leanne says she has learned from some of. his experiences in the church as well "I guess you could say I was heavily influenced by my parents, they both enjoyed working with other people—my mother was a teacher.” Leanne will complete her duties in Castlegar in August Kendrick-Twidale Optometrists are pleased to announce that Alfred P.
