The Castlegar and District Recreation Complex is getting the ball rolling for a community sing- along Monday. Recreation co-ordinator Susan Campbell is helping residents or- ganize a_ city-wide Christmas caroling event that will have neighbors joined in song. “T’ve contacted people at the Community Pride locations,” Campbell said. “They can put the owness on the communi- ty as a whole if they want to get their neighbors out for some caroling, “This is an opportuni- ty to start a tradition in our community.” In lieu of Partici- paction, a Community Pride event was held in May. Some 16 locations were set up in the Castle- gar area as designated sites for events to en- hance pride in the com- munity. Campbell contacted people in these areas, en- couraging them to get in touch with their neigh- bors to head out for some singing. Lyric sheets for the carols can be picked up at the com- plex. Meantime, a host of other seasonal activities are planned over the holidays. Exercise buffs can work off those perilous holiday goodies during the Boxing Day Fitness Blitz. The aero- bics session will run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. One Dec. 27, head to the arena at the complex for a free skate from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Z If you can’t wait till then j to get active, take advantage of Loonie Week.
