Men who. have not, and probably never will pay a cent of taxes have been able to go a resolution discriminating against the Recorp in the matter of city printing. ‘They have been able to intimidate the printere working at the Recorp office, forcing them to quit work. Last Sun- day night, after we had retired, there came @ knock at our door, and our fore- man announced that he had been taken into the union and ordered to not go to work in the morning... Th .the had pled for the privelege of giving reasonable notice, but had been refused. Last night Mr. Brill, who-had been eo certain that he was righ®, and would not yield to the unjust dictation. ef the union, moved his sick wife, between 10 and’ 11 o’lock, and has not been seen since. We do not believe that the business men of Rossland who have stood should- er to shoulder with the Recorp, in the upbuilding! of our fair yotng ‘city, will sanction the cohdact of these men, and take sides against the paper that has atways stood by the: and the town. —_—_—— y and dressing shoes at. one- ad'you pay eleowhere at Houghton & . Brill and Theo'ore Rusch at their instance and request which would no doubt have been sent forward b they not beee pursuaded or intimidated.
