AND MRS: CLINT CLIFTON . residing in Princeton United Church wedding Sharleen Martini and Clint Clifton, both of Princeton, were married Oct. 12 in the Castlegar United Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Martini of Castlegar and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Clifton of Keremeos. Two baskets of fall silk flowers and two large vases of mums decorated the church. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown with a lace bodice and spaghetti straps and a full chiffon skirt with two delicate side tucks flowing to a train. The dress was worn with a long: sleeved fitted jacket of figured lace with a stand-up ruffled collar a princess neckline. The bride’s headdress — a sequined band with a lace and sequined half-crown holding a waist-length veil — belonged to the groom's mother and was worn by her at her wedding. The bride wore her mother's pearls as jewelry and carried a bouquet of red and white crocheted roses, a gift from the groom's sister Wendy. Rev. Ted Bristow officiated at the ceremony and Mrs. Win Scarff was the organist. Musical selections included the theme from The Godfather, the traditional Wedding March, and Morning Has Broken. Susan Giles of Castlegar was matron of honor. Carol Chapman of Castlegar was bridesmaid. ‘The matron of honor wore a deep blue and navy print dress with navy trim, three-quarter sleeves and a high neckline. The bridesmaid's dress — which she made herself — was teal-embossed silk with full-length sleeves and a high neckline. Both attendants carried bouquets of yellow and white roses made by the groom's sister. Rod Soderstrom of Princeton was best man and Clay Clifton, brother of the groom. from Keremeos, was groomsman. Clay Martini of Red Deer and Darcy Martini of Castlegar, brothers of the bride, were. ushers. A reception at the Legion Hall followed the church service. Decorations at the hall were masterminded by the bride's aunt, Lorraine Hoskins, and put up by aunts and cousins. The three-tiered fruit wedding cake was made by the bride’s mother and decorated with white icing, pink roses and silver leaves by Mrs, Da Costa. The cake was topped with a bride and groom beneath an arch. Carol Bertrand, a friend from Princeton, mistress of ceremonies. The toast to — and “roast” of — the bride was made by Carol Chapman. The groom made a reply to the toast. Rod Soderstrom proposed a toast to the bridesmaid, Sue Giles made a toast to the groomsmen and the bride made a toast to her parents. The newlyweds are residing in Princeton. was _ GiB pie BBs Se SS se AUTO BODY & REPAIR WANETA PLAZA TOYOTA Complete Car and Truck Repairs AUTO BODY & PAINTING Bear Creek Road, Trail 364-2588 AUTOMOTIVE SUPPLIES (=3) BUMPER TO BUMPER. Changes brought to the centre in 1985 include the new Swallow's Nest_Coffee Shop, and the expansion of- the Birds of a Feather Gift Shop. Several features of this summer's operation were a direct result of grant funding through the Modified Indus- trial Labor Adjustment Pro- gram. There. is a_ self-guiding nature trail for which an appropriate brochure has now been prepared. The centre has also been able to offer a program dur- ing the virst and last months of the school year. Canoe trips. were made possible, and a visitor survey was car- ried out. “This will help to refine the program for the people who -visit, and to identify groups who might be contacted more fully,” the release said. Besides the many guided canoe trips through Corn Creek Marsh surrounding the wildlife centre, the staff conducted numerous walks, demonstrations, , and _film shows. During 1984, Corn Creek underwent a total drawdown which provided a different wildlife spectacle to that usually found at the centre, and with re-flooding in 1985 the marsh is now into a re- newed cycle of productivity. Also under the MILAP funding, new signs have been prepared as highway infor- mation and for the display hall at the centre. Daughters hold rockathon The Job's Daughters of Bethel No. 60 and several of their friends held a successful rockathon last weekend. The girls spent 21 hours in rocking chairs in the show- room of Maloney Pontiac. All started the marathon with great enthusiasm, but by the middle of Sunday afternoon, those that’ remained were only too glad to go home to bed when the adults advised an-end to the rockathon, However, Victoria Thomp- son continued to rock for a further three hours to fulfil her commitment of 24 hours of continuous rocking. All money raised from the rockathon will go to various charities supported by the Daughters. — “buy your inauronce trom The Dominion onde ve The ideal Monthly Payment “itiets you pay tor your home ordingly ‘Jost how ideal is The Plon?
